Toronto, Canada Scotiabank Full time

Requisition ID: Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high‑performing culture. The Team Scotiabank continues to lead in Payments technology and innovation. We’re modernizing the way money moves — building transparent, reliable, and scalable systems that serve millions while fostering a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and collaboration. If you thrive on solving complex problems, love connecting dots between technology and business, and aren’t afraid to challenge how things have always been done, this is your opportunity to make a real impact in the trillion‑dollar Payments industry. The Role As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be at the center of strategic transformation — translating business goals into innovative technology solutions. You’ll collaborate across business and technology teams to deliver capabilities that shape the next generation of Payments at Scotiabank. This is an opportunity to learn, lead, and influence change in an environment that values curiosity, critical thinking, and progress over process. Is this role right for you? Lead the discovery, analysis, and documentation of business requirements that drive strategic transformation. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams — product, technology, operations, and external partners — to define, design, and deliver end‑to‑end payment solutions. Challenge assumptions and bring forward creative ideas to simplify, automate, and improve processes. Facilitate workshops and design sessions to uncover root causes, align on goals, and co‑create solutions. Translate complex concepts into clear user stories and functional specifications that guide implementation. Perform gap analysis across systems and payment standards to identify opportunities for modernization. Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure readiness for delivery, testing, and post‑implementation success. Serve as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert (SME) in the Payments domain. Mentor and coach other analysts, fostering a growth‑oriented and collaborative team culture. Champion continuous improvement by identifying new ways to work smarter and deliver better outcomes for customers. Contribute to an inclusive, high‑performance culture where diverse perspectives drive better solutions. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? A strategic and analytical mindset — you see the big picture, connect patterns, and anticipate what’s next. Curiosity and courage to ask why, challenge assumptions, and explore innovative solutions. Proven experience in business process mapping, system analysis, and requirements documentation. Excellent communication skills — able to translate between technical and business perspectives. Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills across diverse stakeholder groups. Experience conducting gap and impact analyses for large‑scale systems or modernization programs. Adaptability in fast‑paced, evolving environments, balancing short‑term execution with long‑term vision. Hands‑on experience with Agile practices, Jira, and Confluence. Knowledge of the Payments domain (EFT, ISO 20022, wire, or related systems) is an asset. Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry is a plus. Availability to work on‑site 3 days per week. What’s in it for you?
