PROJECT MANAGER - PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES Full-time Job Offer Description The Project Manager – People and Communities will be responsible for various tasks related to three main areas: health and safety, practices surrounding equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and relations with communities and Indigenous peoples. The candidate will primarily act as a consultant to mining companies seeking to comply. A non-exhaustive list of tasks related to these components can be found below. Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency Measures : Develop and implement health and safety programs and emergency plans tailored to the challenges of the mining industry, including the development of operational procedures and policies. Develop and provide training to various stakeholders in the mining sector in order to promote good health and safety practices. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with Canadian safety standards (CNESST, VDMD, etc.). Perform emergency testing. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) : Supporting mining clients in the deployment of their EDI action plan to comply with the latest standards. List existing practices in the company, establish diagnoses and develop new EDI recommendations and initiatives. Relations with communities : Support mining companies in their relations with local communities and stakeholders, particularly First Nations, depending on the specificities of mining projects. Participate in the organization of community consultations and ensure that local concerns are taken into account in projects. Ensure compliance with the company's commitments to communities in the context of mining projects. Promote sustainable community development initiatives (infrastructure, local employment, training, etc.). As a project manager, he or she will be the first point of contact in all projects under his or her responsibility. The project manager will have to constantly deepen their field of expertise by participating in association and group initiatives with the aim of learning and applying industry best practices. Finally, the candidate will be able to rely on other project managers and the team of project assistants. He or she will report to the project directors. He or she must be familiar with the requirements of mining industry standards and regulations, such as the Mining Association of Canada's Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) initiative. Experience and qualifications BAC or Technical in health and safety, human resources, community relations or any other relevant field; Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar position, preferably in the mining sector (an asset); Knowledge of Canadian health and safety standards and regulations (OHS, CNESST, etc.) and EDI issues; Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams; Sensitivity and experience in managing relations with indigenous and local communities, particularly in the mining context; Fluency in French and English (oral and written); Autonomy and sense of initiative; Good ability to popularize and teach; Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Conditions and benefits · Remote work but monthly visits to the Go-Mine office in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu; - Possibility of traveling to mine sites, as needed and according to projects; - Full-time, 40 hours per week. About Go-Mine Go-Mine is a Quebec-based engineering company founded in 2019 working in the field of sustainable mining development. It is very active, among other things, in bringing mine sites into compliance with mining industry standards and best practices. It is also involved in a wide range of environmental and social responsibility projects, as well as working with mines on emergency preparedness and risk management.
