Job Offer Description
The Sustainable Mining Project Manager will carry out a variety of tasks for projects related to the mining environment and social responsibility. Water and tailings facility management, biodiversity conservation, climate change resilience, community and aboriginal relations, and mine site reclamation are just a few examples of the topics the candidate will be working on.
He or she will write manuals, procedures or processes, conduct training activities, facilitate risk analyses, lead emergency testing and attend various workshops with mine sites. As Project Manager, he/she will be the first point of contact for all projects under his/her responsibility.
The Project Manager will be required to constantly expand his or her field of expertise by participating in association and group initiatives, with the aim of learning and applying industry best practices.
Finally, the candidate will be able to rely on other project managers and the team of designers. He or she will report to the project directors. He or she must be familiar with the requirements of mining industry standards and regulations, such as the VDMD (Towards Sustainable Mining Development) initiative, the GISTM (Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management), and the new consolidated standard.
Experience and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BAC) in mining, geology or civil engineering or BAC in earth sciences/environment;
- Master's degree an asset ;
- 5+ years experience in mining or related field;
- Autonomy and sense of initiative;
- Enjoy working on several projects at once;
- Good organizational skills, rigor and ability to work in a team;
- Good writing skills in French and English;
- Good ability to popularize and teach;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Go-Mine is a Quebec-based engineering company founded in 2019 working in the field of sustainable mining development. It is very active, among other things, in bringing mine sites into compliance with mining industry standards and best practices. It is also involved in a wide range of environmental and social responsibility projects, as well as working with mines on emergency preparedness and risk management.
