Summary We are seeking an experienced SecOps/DevOps Engineer to join our technology operations team supporting Java web applications within a highly regulated banking environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee the stability, performance, and security of Linux-based application servers hosting Java web applications. Manage Apache Tomcat environments — deploy, tune, monitor, and troubleshoot Java WAR/EAR applications. Implement secure configurations for Java runtimes and Tomcat, including JVM tuning and thread connection management. Apply operations security best practices for data and transport encryption (TLS, certificates, ciphers). Manage certificates, private keys, keystores, and truststores for secure communication between application components. Maintain and enforce Ansible-based configuration management for consistent system build, patching, and application deployment. Automate operational workflows including installations, patches, rollbacks, and compliance checks. Partner with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure compliance with banking industry security policies and audit controls. Proactively monitor system health using internal monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent). Participate in on-call rotation for production incident response and environment recovery activities. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in Linux system operations within enterprise or regulated environments. Hands-on expertise with Apache Tomcat, Java runtime (JRE/JDK), and JVM configuration. Demonstrated understanding of TLS, ciphers, PKI, keystores, certificates, and secrets management. Strong proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and automation. Experience with system monitoring, patch management, and log analysis tools. Understanding of ITIL/operations best practices and incident/change management processes. Ability to work collaboratively across Security, Development, and Infrastructure teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Java web applications in production or pre-production environments. Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics for application health monitoring. Exposure to vulnerability management, compliance scanning, and remediation in a financial environment. Scripting experience (shell, Python, or Groovy) to complement Ansible automation.
