Toronto, Canada Changify Full time

Senior Space Planner & Workplace Strategist Location: Toronto, ON Department: Workplace Strategy & Design Reports to: VP Change Management About Changify.ca At Changify.ca, we promote positive change. We are dedicated to helping organizations navigate complex transitions and, sometimes, that includes aligning their physical environments with their evolving changes and culture. We believe that a workspace is a tangible representation of a company's values, and our mission is to create environments that foster collaboration, innovation, and well-being. The Role We are seeking an Experienced Workspace Planner who possesses a rare blend of technical precision and emotional intelligence. You will go beyond floor plans to understand the “pulse” of our clients. This role acts as the strategic and tactical bridge between physical space and organizational culture. In this role, you will act as a diplomat for the physical environment. You will be responsible for translating high-level business goals into functional layouts while navigating the complex web of stakeholder opinions, departmental needs, and cultural nuances. You are the person who ensures that the new office layout isn’t just efficient, but that it feels like “home” to the teams inhabiting it. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Space Planning & Design Develop comprehensive blocking, stacking, and space planning scenarios that maximize efficiency while promoting employee engagement. Create detailed test fits, furniture layouts, and occupancy plans. Analyze utilization data to forecast future space requirements and propose agile/hybrid work solutions. 2. Stakeholder Management & Negotiation Lead the Conversation: Act as the primary point of contact for department heads and executive leadership regarding space allocation. Negotiation: Skillfully navigate conflicting demands for space (e.g., “We need more private offices” vs. “We need more collaboration zones”) to reach a consensus that serves the greater organizational goal. Expectation Management: Proactively identify resistance to layout changes and address concerns through data-driven presentations and empathetic dialogue. 3. Cultural Alignment & Change Integration Cultural Interpretation: Translate abstract cultural values (e.g., “transparency,” “flat hierarchy”) into physical design elements (e.g., open sightlines, accessible leadership zones). Change Advocacy: Partner with the Change Management team to ensure the physical space supports the behavioral changes being introduced to the client. Feedback Loops: Facilitate workshops and focus groups to gather qualitative data on how teams work, ensuring the space reflects their actual day-to-day reality, not just theoretical ratios. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: 7+ years of experience in Space Planning, Interior Design, or Workplace Strategy and Execution. Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of drafting, modeling, and space management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, iOffice, Archibus). Proficient in Excel for data analysis. Stakeholder Mastery: Proven track record of managing C-suite expectations and navigating political sensitivities within large organizations. Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and drive consensus without compromising project integrity. Cultural Intelligence: High EQ with the ability to “read the room” and understand the unwritten rules of an organization’s culture. Communication: Ability to present complex spatial data in a clear, compelling narrative to non-technical audiences. Why You’ll Love Working With Us Impact: Your work will directly influence how people feel and perform every day. Autonomy: We value your expertise and give you the room to lead client engagements your way. Growth: Access to continuous learning in change management, integration and workplace strategy.
