Full-Time Junior High Generalist Teacher

Conklin Community School

Northland School Division is seeking a Junior High Generalist Teacher at Conklin Community School for the 2024-2025 school year. The kindergarten to grade 9 school is located in the hamlet of Conklin. Conklin is the most southern community in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. It is a quiet, rural community located approximately 155 kilometres southeast of Fort McMurray on scenic Christina Lake and can be accessed from Alberta Highways 63 and 881. Following the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.

Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium and long range planning.

Provide feedback to students and parents in a regular, timely manner.

Champion Cree language/culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.

Support school-parent-community engagement.

Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative-decision making.

Promote differentiated instruction to meet diversity in learning needs.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Teaching Quality Standard certificate.

Must hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd.) degree.

Successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.

Additionally, should the successful applicant receive a successful evaluation, there may be an opportunity to receive a continuous contract.
