Job Overview Senior User Experience Researcher at Siemens Healthineers (Varian), based in Eastern Canada with less than 25% travel and proximity to an international airport. Responsibilities Gain deep understanding about users with explorative and generative research, especially in new domains. Identify user needs, behaviors, and motivations to inform product strategy and innovation. Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Partner with cross‑functional teammates – interaction designers, visual designers, product managers and other stakeholders – to identify research needs, define goals, and execute tactical and foundational research. Moderate inspiring ideation workshops with a global, multidisciplinary team. Define measurable goals for product user experience to align with the project team and establish testable metrics. Ensure that user insights are reflected in design concepts and solutions. Advocate for end users and promote a research‑ and data‑driven culture across the organization. Qualifications A master’s degree in human‑computer interaction, psychology or a related field. 8+ years of industry experience in user research with deep knowledge of explorative and generative methods. Proven ability to think conceptually, work in ambiguous, early‑stage product development, and balance constraints within a regulated industry. Extensive experience collaborating with product management, design and development teams to influence strategic decisions. Strong communication skills and the ability to tell compelling stories with data and insights to product teams and upper management. Medical knowledge or experience designing medical devices is a strong asset. Benefits & Compensation Base pay range: $91,500 – $141,500. Additional benefits include paid time off, holiday pay, and health & wellness programs. Compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills and experience.
