Our client, a mineral exploration and development company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metallurgical Engineer to join their team in Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mineral processing, metallurgy, and process optimization, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the mining industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Metallurgical Testing & Analysis: Conduct laboratory and on-site testing to evaluate ore characteristics and processing methods.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and improve metallurgical processes to enhance recovery, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality of metallurgical processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation on metallurgical findings, process improvements, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with mining engineers, geologists, and plant operators to optimize production and resolve operational challenges.
  • Research & Development: Stay updated on emerging technologies and advancements in metallurgical processes to improve overall efficiency and sustainability.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure all metallurgical processes align with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in metallurgical engineering, mineral processing, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of mineral processing techniques.
  • Experience in iron ore and base metals mineral processing industries preferred.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical modeling software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • French language skills are required; English language skills are an asset.
