Job Description

As our new Senior Metallurgist, you will play an important role with our current teams by leading or supporting technical services projects. You will make technical contributions to projects focusing on mineral processing, and bring strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, and critical and conceptual thinking abilities.

Working closely with senior team members, you will bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple projects and priorities independently.

Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to process technology and operational/optimization projects with key success factors aligned to the project business case, including health and safety, environmental compliance, technical outcomes, schedule, cost, and quality.
  2. Coordinate operational activities with multiple groups, including internal teams, engineering companies, on-site contractors, and subject matter experts.
  3. Provide metallurgical support to techno-economic studies, including scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility engineering activities.
  4. Provide metallurgical support for due diligence and independent engineer activities.
  5. Provide consulting services to operational sites and project teams in various areas of mineral processing engineering.
  6. Follow established health and safety policies.

Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of experience in the engineering or environmental consulting industry.
  2. 5+ years of operational experience in a mineral processing environment.
  3. Experience with sample selection and conducting metallurgical test work programs.
  4. Experience with designing and supervising metallurgical test work programs and interpretation of results.
  5. Experience in process design and familiarity with processing methods for a variety of commodities.
  6. Experience with budgeting or operating cost estimation.
  7. Strong technical mindset and good report writing skills.
  8. Degree in metallurgical, chemical, or mining engineering (mineral processing focus).
  9. Registered as a professional engineer.
