LTO Assignment: Grade 9 and Grade 10 Religion (Immersion) 1.00 FTE We are seeking a Long Term Occasional teacher to provide coverage for a teacher on leave. The assignment is for a single school within the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB). Responsibilities Teach the Grade 9 and Grade 10 Religion (Immersion) curriculum during the absence of an assigned teacher. Ensure continuity of instruction and student progress throughout the assignment period. Collaborate with school staff and parents to maintain communication and support student learning. Qualifications Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. Successful completion of the Sexual Abuse Prevention Training through OCT. Knowledge of Catholic principles and appreciation for diverse faiths. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support immersion language learning. How to Apply Applications must be submitted through the Apply to Education portal. Use your OCSB email address; personal email accounts will not be reviewed. Only complete applications will be considered. Use the OCSB ATE account if you are a current employee. Process for Selection The board will identify the three most senior eligible applicants. Each applicant will be contacted to confirm interest; if declined, the next qualified applicant will be approached until five are considered. If fewer than three qualified teachers apply or all decline, the board may hire an external qualified teacher not on the OCSB roster. External candidates must pass the OT interview process and submit a negative PRC for the Vulnerable Sector within six months. AI may be utilized throughout the selection and recruitment process.
