What you can expect to do here Take complex or highly complex design projects from start to finish and ensure the design meets the established project criteria and all applicable standards. Engineer design including calculations, specification and drawings for Power distribution, Standby Generators, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Lightning Protection, Communication, Nurse Call, Security, and other related electrical systems. Introduce new technology and design as mandated by the project and clients. Work environment has high volume, offering a range of project complexities and requires a high level of responsibility. Utilize industry‑specific software and related technologies in design and analysis. Prepare reports, budgets, project plans and other supporting documentation as required. Manage all aspects associated with contract administration and client services monitoring. When necessary, become involved with a variety of agencies for project approvals and permitting. Lead junior and intermediate team members on development of methods, techniques and various analytical approaches on projects. Participate in proposal preparation activities. What you’ll bring to WSP University degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalency. 10+ years of experience in consulting electrical design engineering for Canadian healthcare buildings, experienced in leading electrical design for complex or highly complex Class A healthcare facility projects. Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.). LEED Accreditation and sustainable design experience are considered assets. Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, electrical design software, and experience with AutoCAD drafting are required. Proficiency with Revit is considered an asset. Knowledge of P3 projects, both on the client and constructor side, is desirable. Proficiency with Bluebeam Studio is an asset. About WSP WSP is one of the world’s leading professional services firms.
