Senior Advisor, Government Relations (Telework/Hybrid) Position: Senior Advisor, Government Relations (Telework/Hybrid) Employment: Permanent, Full‑time, Hybrid work arrangement at Ottawa (primary location: 181 Queen Street, Ottawa, Ontario). Language Requirements: Bilingual proficiency in English and French (Reading – Advanced, Speaking – Advanced, Writing – Intermediate). Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (Travel within Canada occasionally). Unposting Date: :59 PM Primary Responsibilities: Support the Executive Director in building and maintaining positive relationships with government officials, parliamentarians and their offices, and committee staff. Serve as a key communication link between the Corporation and the parliamentary precinct, ensuring timely and effective responses to inquiries and parliamentary questions. Closely follow parliamentary developments and provide key advice to senior management. Ensure representatives of the Corporation are prepared for effective appearances before parliamentary committees. Proactively identify and communicate CBC/Radio‑Canada's successes and value to political and public‑service stakeholders through briefing materials, outreach activities, and stakeholder events. Develop creative proposals to enhance the Corporation's management of issues with parliamentary stakeholders. Qualifications: Undergraduate degree and a minimum of three years of experience with government and/or parliamentarians. In‑depth knowledge of government and parliamentary structures, systems, and processes with demonstrated expertise in issue evaluation and management; knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes for media and culture industries is essential. Bilingual (English and French) in speaking and reading; writing in the other official language is an asset. High level of interpersonal and communication skills, including discretion and diplomacy. Proven ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment, and manage multiple files in occasional high‑stress environments. Strong teamwork skills. Availability to occasionally work lengthy periods, sometimes without prior notice. Background Checks: A mandatory criminal record check.
