Role Overview This is our first Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) hire. This isn't a role for maintaining someone else's legacy systems or tweaking a mature platform. This is a rare, ground-floor opportunity to participate in building the reliability, security, and scale for what we are building to be Canada’s defining P2P payments platform. We are looking for a world-class engineer to lay the foundation of trust for millions of future users. What You'll Build Elastic, Resilient, and Scalable Foundation : Take our current infrastructure and take it to the next level. This means engineering for high availability, designing for spiky user loads, implementing robust observability and monitoring, and creating an automated, self-healing environment ready for prime time. Compliance as Code : Architect the systems and automated controls to achieve and maintain Canada’s most critical compliance frameworks. Treat compliance as an engineering problem, building security and auditability into the fabric of our platform. A World-Class Developer Experience : Build the tooling and pipelines that empower developers to ship features with speed, safety, and confidence. This means creating seamless local development and testing environments, blazing-fast CI/CD pipelines, and providing the guardrails that make it easy to do the right thing and hard to do the wrong thing. Who We Are Looking For You have 5-10+ years as a Senior SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineer You are an architect of operational excellence, proactively building resilient, observable, and self-healing systems to prevent fires rather than fight them. You have deep, hands-on expertise with the technologies listed in the section below. You are calm and decisive under pressure, with a profound sense of ownership that drives you to see problems through to their resolution. You communicate complex technical ideas with clarity and conviction to both technical and non-technical audiences. You thrive in the ambiguity of an early-stage environment, seeing it not as chaos, but as an opportunity to create structure and excellence. You are always curious about learning about new tools and technologies to incorporate into your work flows. You are a team player always ready to listen, provide feedback when necessary and foster collaboration. Infrastructure as Code (CDK for Terraform) Proficiency in cloud development (AWS, GCP or Azure) Proficiency with Continuous Integration tools (GitHub Actions) Proficiency in TypeScript & Python Experience with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE or AKS) Experience with Data Lakehouse architectures Experience designing and implementing MLOps pipelines Impact from day one by shaping the finance function of a company that aims to redefine payments in Canada and beyond.
