Purpose of the Position CPKC is a 24/7 operation, and we are seeking a proactive and results‑oriented Supervisor of Work Equipment to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all work equipment repair and maintenance activities. This critical role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective upkeep of work equipment and vehicles within a designated geographical territory, adhering to all regulatory requirements and company protocols. As a front‑line leader you will optimize resource allocation, manage workflows, and maintain compliance standards, all while promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence. Position Accountabilities Coordinate and monitor the performance of maintainers to ensure the reliability and optimal functionality of all work equipment, in alignment with guidance from the Manager of Work Equipment Schedule and oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for vehicles and equipment, ensuring timely inspections, accurate evaluations, and effective follow‑up on inspection reports Prepare and arrange detailed condition reports for all work equipment within the assigned region Mentor, coach, and guide maintainers and machine operators to enhance their skills, efficiency, and overall performance Ensure strict adherence to CPKC safety practices, policies, and procedures to uphold a safe and compliant working environment Review, analyze, and manage financial results, ensuring alignment with assigned budgets and operational goals Track inventory to safety stock levels and implement effective processes to reduce downtime and support operational efficiency Build and maintain strong relationships with cross‑functional teams to enhance operational synergy and territory‑wide performance Position Requirements High school diploma or general equivalency Must be at least 18 years of age Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a railway work equipment maintenance environment Possession of a Journeyman Certificate as a heavy‑duty mechanic is considered a strong asset Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in CPKC systems, such as SAP Solid familiarity with safety protocols and processes necessary for operations in a railway setting Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a team and priorities in a fast‑paced, safety‑driven environment What CPKC has to offer Flexible and competitive benefits package Competitive company pension and/or retirement plans Employee share purchase plan Performance incentive plan Annual fitness subsidy Part‑time studies program Pre‑Employment Requirements This is a safety‑sensitive position and a successful pre‑employment medical assessment, including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test, is required.
