Could It Be You? The Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive Compliance Management program for Flexiti Financial. This individual will ensure adherence to all applicable federal and provincial regulatory requirements related to consumer lending, credit card operations, consumer protection, privacy, and anti‑money laundering (AML). This is a high‑visibility, single‑incumbent role requiring a proactive self‑starter with expert knowledge of the Canadian financial services regulatory environment. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance the organization’s Compliance Management System, policies, procedures, and internal controls relevant to unsecured consumer lending. Act as the primary subject matter expert on all applicable Canadian legislation, including but not limited to provincial consumer protection acts (e.g., disclosure requirements, cost of borrowing), Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and Anti‑Money Laundering (AML)/Anti‑Terrorist Financing (ATF) regulations. Monitor the regulatory landscape for changes, assess their impact on Flexiti’s operations, and ensure timely implementation of necessary policy and process updates. Manage compliance documentation, ensuring it is current, accurate, and readily available for internal and external reviews/audits. Monitor various company related approvals and licenses to ensure kept up to date Develop and deliver compliance training for employees and relevant third‑party partners (e.g., merchant personnel), covering core areas like consumer protection and conduct. Provide timely and accurate compliance guidance to business units on new product initiatives, marketing campaigns, operational changes, and technology implementations. Manage and resolve escalated issues, ensuring potential complaints are efficiently redirected to the appropriate internal teams for resolution. Detect and mitigate violations of regulatory or internal policy requirements Support Flexiti on all regulatory inquiries and examinations Development of the Compliance Committee and gathering information for related reports Development of compliance controls for new products So are YOU our next Compliance Manager (Flexiti)? You are if you… Have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field. Have 5+ years of experience in a compliance, risk management, or audit role within the financial services industry, with a focus on unsecured consumer lending, credit cards, or retail financing. Have expert knowledge of the Canadian regulatory framework governing consumer credit, including provincial cost of credit and disclosure regulations, consumer protection laws, and federal AML/ATF requirements. Have proven experience designing and operating a Compliance Management System (CMS) and performing compliance risk assessments and testing. Can work independently as the designated compliance function, taking full responsibility for the program with minimal supervision. Have commitment to high ethical standards and the ability to make difficult, risk‑based decisions under pressure. Have exceptional attention to detail in reviewing documentation, policies, and regulatory text, coupled with strong analytical skills to assess complex regulatory requirements. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable guidance for business teams and to articulate risk to senior leadership. Can build trust and effective working relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners (e.g., merchants) to foster a culture of compliance.
