We are looking for a versatile senior level manager with strong quality management experience to drive product quality improvement from NPI to after sale and to satisfy internal and external customers. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic to improve product engineering process and to contribute to improve productivity and achieve quality goals. Proven capability onmanaging and working with teams to deliver results is important to us. The candidate also needs to have proven track record on continuously improving QMS and leading the effort for a successful ISO 9001 audit. The position is based in Burnaby BC, Canada. As a Director of Quality Management, your responsibilities will include: Initiate and manage key projects for product quality improvement, such as reducing cost of quality, product RMA rate and IQC failure rate, increasing production yield rate etc…; closely drive and track them to completion with all targets achieved. Identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, define feasible and meaningful goals and drive corrective actions or quality initiatives for results with fast and measureable returns and values to company business. Create and maintain concise and meaningful quality metrics dashboards (HW, SW, IQC, RMA and etc.), monitor and adjust them as business situation changes. Report quality status to executive teams on a weekly basis. Play a key role to support Technical Support team by leveraging internal resources to address product quality issues escalated from field. Proactively initiate and execute ideas to improve products and services quality. Lead and involve annual internal and external audit event and ensure ISO9001 compliance. Provide valuable quality improvement feedback and suggestions to product design teams through quality case studyand lessons learned analysis. Perform data mining and follow up with both in-house design team and off-shore OEM partner/supplier to support root cause analysis in situations where quality data are not readily available. Work with tools development team to create new tools per business needs and to improve usability and data accuracy on existing tools and database for product quality records keeping,tracking and analyzing. Participate in other strategic projects within Quality Team which may include product creation, project management and escalation management. We are looking for: 10+ years of professional experience in IT, Telecommunication or related industry, including 5+years team andproject management experience with process and quality improvement focus. Strong people management experience and skill to assess and utilize existing team’s skill sets and capabilities to support business needs, and to hire, coach, mentor new team members for business expansion. Solid background in hardware and software engineering practices in the meantime grasps a good understanding of hardware design and manufacturing process. Strong analytical skills with hands on experience in creating quality metrics and analyzing process performance. Previous hands-on experience in identifying product failure modes and conducting root cause analysis is required. Previous experience of managing QMS, leading/participating ISO audit is required. A professional attitude and fastidious attention to details. Self-motivated, multi-tasking, ability to work in a team with minimal guidance and under pressure. Strong communication skills with internal and external customers. Bachelor or Master degree in Comp. Science, Engineering or other relevant technical field, or equivalent combination of work experience and education. The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $115,900 - $141,700 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
