Superintendent - ICI Construction Location: Vancouver, BC Employment Type: Full-Time About The Role Our client is looking to add several Superintendents to their Dynamic Ops team to oversee on-site construction operations and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Dynamic Ops delivers projects valued under $10M, primarily within the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sector. As the on-site lead, the Superintendent is accountable for coordinating daily construction activities, managing field teams, and working closely with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and Project Managers. This role plays a critical part in fostering a strong safety culture, promoting collaboration, and driving efficient project execution from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily site operations from initial setup through project closeout. Support preconstruction efforts, including planning, scheduling, logistics, and risk evaluation. Develop, track, and update construction schedules in collaboration with Project Managers. Lead and supervise site personnel, trades, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment and accountability. Champion a safety-first mindset and promote teamwork and continuous improvement on-site. Create and implement Site-Specific Safety Plans in accordance with company Health & Safety programs. Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ensure proper First Aid coverage is in place. Identify and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately. Enforce Quality Management Plans and ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and standards. Perform quality inspections and coordinate timely resolution of deficiencies. Utilize the Last Planner System to manage schedules, milestones, and deadlines. Coordinate subcontractor activities and lead weekly trade coordination meetings. Manage materials, equipment deliveries, inventory, and resource planning to minimize delays and waste. Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders. Lead site meetings and provide consistent progress updates to Project Managers and senior leadership. Maintain accurate daily logs, safety records, and approve timesheets. Assist with project closeout, including inspections, documentation, and deficiency completion. Qualifications Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory experience in ICI construction. Education: Red Seal Carpentry certification or a related trade qualification. Technical Skills: Proficiency with scheduling tools, construction management software, and safety systems. Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction practices, building codes, and safety regulations.Core Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to interpret drawings and specifications.
