Senior Financial Planning and Data Analyst Reporting to the Manager, Budgets, the Senior Financial Planning & Data Analyst will lead the budgetary coordination for the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Nunavut’s Operations and Maintenance Appropriation, ensuring systems and processes facilitate the development, management, and analysis of the department’s program budget in alignment with Government of Nunavut acts and policies, Department of Finance instructions, and senior management direction. Key Responsibilities Draft and review financial data sections of budgetary documents, including Financial Management Board submissions, Business Planning requests, new initiatives, forced growth, and supplementary funding for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness. Develop plans and detailed procedures to ensure the department follows governing authorities, including the Financial Administration Act, the Financial Administration Manual, and accounting standards as provided by PSAB. Monitor fiscal year‑end projections for the departmental operations and maintenance budget and recommend corrective action as required. Maintain an information system that forecasts salary and benefit budget shortfalls and surpluses for inclusion in the departmental variance reporting exercises and the main estimate process. Prepare monthly expenditure management reports for submission to the Department of Finance. Advise program managers of the status of proposed and approved budget adjustments. Manage the activities and assign workloads for the Financial Budget Planning Analyst. Required Qualifications A recognised degree in Commerce with a major in accounting and at least three (3) years of directly related experience, including supervisory or team‑lead responsibilities. Experience with financial management information systems. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial modules such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Purchase Orders. Current enrollment in the Canadian CPA designation program with advanced standing (considered an asset). Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset; knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Qaujimajatuqangit, and experience working in a northern cross‑cultural environment are also considered assets. Additional Information Priority will be given to Nunavut Inuit who self‑identify as being enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement in accordance with the Priority Hiring Policy.
