Typical office hours from Monday to Friday with some flexibility to adjust start and end times depending on employee needs Workperks corporate discounts and discounts to a variety of different fitness facilities Free on-site parking and walkable campus Collaborative, supportive and a fun place to work Opportunity to have a meaningful impact on children and young people The Position: We are looking for a full‑time temporary Payroll Specialist who will perform a variety of functions relating to the effective administration of payroll at Hull Services. This position is based on a 37.5 hour work week, Monday to Friday with a scheduled lunch break. Duties and Responsibilities: Code Salaried and Relief timesheets and post entries into the payroll system. Process ad‑hoc payroll entries as needed (e.g., tickets, passes, etc.). Set up and ensure accurate deductions. Calculate staff timesheets, record vacation and sick time taken, and distribute monthly reports to supervisors. File payroll documents and maintain employee records. Process and distribute payroll attendance reports. Support with managing Garnishments. Issue Records of employment. Assist with processing semi‑monthly pay accurately and on time, including updating and uploading payroll data import files. Participate in reading payroll batches to ensure accuracy. Work with People and Culture to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, employee departures and other employee status changes. Perform other payroll/benefits related tasks as required. Qualifications and Skills: Post‑secondary education in a relevant field would be an asset. Some exposure to payroll and payroll software is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel. Strong attention to and accuracy. Ability to multi‑task and work under tight deadlines. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent people skills and communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and willingness to perform a variety of support tasks.
