Vice Principal / Teacher Competition #PLSD-2170 Al-Amal Academy is located in North West Calgary and provides an Islamic learning environment that offers an accredited K‑9 program of studies compliant with the Alberta curriculum. The Academy offers a wide variety of learning opportunities including regular classroom studies as well as foreign language, computer science and sports groups. We are searching for an energetic, enthusiastic individual to assume responsibilities as a part‑time Vice‑Principal with Al‑Amal Islamic Academy. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to provide balanced advocacy for teachers, students and parents. The ability to motivate and inspire staff and students to high levels of achievement, along with establishing and maintaining a respectful, orderly and purposeful school environment, is essential. Preference will be given to an individual with expertise to support overall literacy and numeracy development for all students. This part‑time probationary position includes administrative responsibilities for the K‑4 levels at the Academy. Teaching duties will be assigned based on the successful candidate’s qualifications. The position begins as soon as possible and includes an administrative allowance in recognition of the leadership role. Preference will be given to candidates who hold or are actively pursuing a Master's degree.
