Overview Director, Professional Services at Lynx. Location: Remote – Canada (Eastern Time Zone). Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000 CAD + Bonus Eligible. These secure edge computing solutions are designed to drive innovation and operational excellence in today’s most demanding environments. From advancing aerospace and defense capabilities to transforming commercial and industrial systems, Lynx collaborates across a wide range of industries, including automotive, medical, and critical infrastructure, to deliver tailored, high assurance solutions aligned with specific mission and operational requirements. Our key products and services are: LYNX MOSA.ic: A software platform that can include a LYNX safety-critical real-time operating system. MOSA.ic\'s modular design provides robust support for multicore processing. It allows different operating systems and applications of different criticality levels to be run on separate cores for improved performance, reliability, and security. CoreSuite 2.0: A suite of graphics libraries and tools that enable GPU hardware acceleration for both graphics and "GPU Compute", supporting applications such as machine learning and AI processing in edge devices. MOSA.ic.SCA and Vigiles, tools that provide Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and Common Vulnerabilities Exposure (CVE) management for embedded Linux-based and other applications. Software development services for high-reliability applications that can include initial setup of a "DevSecOps" development environment, software application development, and long-term product lifecycle management. Responsibilities Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage multiple teams of embedded engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their professional development; set clear objectives and performance expectations; monitor progress and provide regular feedback; foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. Project Planning and Execution: Work closely with clients to understand their embedded systems requirements, translate them into actionable project plans and deliverables; define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements; ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget; monitor progress, identify and mitigate risks, and escalate issues as necessary; promote agility and automation to scale the business across professional services and lifecycle maintenance teams; establish and enforce quality assurance processes, conduct reviews, and implement corrective actions. Technical Strategy and Expertise: Define and execute the technical strategy for embedded services; stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; provide technical guidance to the Professional Services team ensuring adherence to quality standards, best practices, and industry regulations; stay updated on advancements and identify opportunities for innovation. Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients; serve as the primary point of contact for technical discussions and project updates; collaborate with clients to understand business goals and requirements, providing insights and recommendations for embedded solutions. Sales Collaboration: Drive customer discussions and identify upsell opportunities for long-term engagements; collaborate with sales on statements of work; review and improve the overall pre-sales customer experience; collaborate with team on estimations, delivery, and escalations. Financial - Value Proposition: Understand and drive the financials of the project; help establish the value proposition of the team throughout the project. Team Growth, Hiring: Hire per resource and skill gaps in the professional services teams; track KPIs for all teams; train and mentor team leaders and principal engineers. Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of leadership experience in embedded systems development. 8+ years of leadership experience managing diverse global cross-functional teams. Proficient in programming languages such as C and C++, with hands-on experience in embedded software development. Experience delivering concurrent projects on time and on budget with quality; demonstrated ability to satisfy management and customers. Experience in risk assessments, security and other testing for embedded systems. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to embedded systems security. Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive technical strategy and influence stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
