Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is one of the country’s largest tax incentive programs. KPMG’s Tax Incentives Practice (TIP) consists of a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers and accountants that assist clients to obtain tax savings through incentive programs like SR&ED. We are seeking an individual with a solid engineering background who wants to be exposed to new state‑of‑the‑art innovations in a wide range of industries. What You Will Do Be exposed to new and exciting technologies and state‑of‑the‑art innovations in a range of industries with a focus on mechanical/chemical engineering Work with Senior Managers to participate in and support client technical interviews and examine operations to identify SR&ED‑eligible projects/activities Summarize eligible client activities in a technical report Develop a Project Management Plan and organize and execute multiple engagements on time and within budget Manage client relationships and expectations successfully Maintain an understanding of the SR&ED program and keep up to date with changes in legislation What You Bring To The Role A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field At least 2 years of progressive experience within industry Experience in SR&ED or other R&D related government tax incentive programs is an asset Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.) Keen interest in staying up‑to‑date with cutting‑edge technologies and trends Analytical thinker who can draw inferences and make unexpected connections Highly driven, autonomous, resilient and a team player with a strong work ethic Pay Range The expected base salary range for this position is $61,000 to $95,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
