Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is one of the country’s largest tax incentive programs. It is intended to create a supportive environment for Canadians to carry out research and development (R&D) and foster technological innovation. KPMG’s Tax Incentives Practice (TIP) consists of a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers and accountants that assist our clients to obtain tax savings through incentive programs like SR&ED. KPMG is currently seeking to add an individual with a solid engineering background that has a desire to be exposed to new state‑of‑the‑art innovations in a wide range of industries. In this role you will assist our clients in identifying eligible SR&ED activities and describe these activities in a technical report.  We will provide you with specialized training on Canada’s SR&ED Tax Incentive Program which encourages businesses operating in Canada to develop new products or processes or improve existing ones in the field of science or technology. What You Will Do Be exposed to new and exciting technologies and state‑of‑the‑art innovations in a range of industries with a focus on mechanical/chemical engineering Working with Senior Managers you will participate in and support client technical interviews and examine operations to identify SR&ED eligible projects/activities Summarize eligible client activities in a technical report Project Management Plan, organize and execute multiple engagements on time and within budget Client Management Successfully develop and manage client relationships/expectations Having an understanding of the SR&ED program and the desire to keep up to date with changes in legislation What You Bring To The Role A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field At least 2 of progressive experience within industry Experience in SR&ED or other R&D related government tax incentive programs is an asset Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, etc.) Keen interest in staying up-to-date with cutting edge technologies and trends Analytical thinker who can draw inferences and make unexpected connections Highly driven, autonomous, resilient and team player with a strong work ethic Providing you with the support you need to be at your best S22 For more information about KPMG in Canada’s Benefits and well‑being, click here.
