Interim Vice President, Information Technology Our client, a high growth, Canadian consumer goods manufacturing company, is in urgent need of an Interim VP of IT to lead the function during a time of change and bridge the gap to a new technology vision. This experienced executive will help lay the groundwork for a key transformation initiative by leading a thorough review of the technology function, plan its future state and begin the implementation of changes to drive system, process and people efficiencies. The ideal candidate will be a future-focused leader that enjoys communicating and engaging with the business. Key Accountabilities Lead the design and execution of the IT roadmap—including the management of delivery timelines, assessment of risk and evaluation of ongoing strategy. Evaluate, optimize and execute front and back-end infrastructure and architecture; support integration work between business intelligence and data warehousing. Understand business goals and translate them into building flexible systems that support high growth and new initiatives in product, marketing, supply chain/manufacturing and distribution. Collaborate with and provide advisory support to the executive team in the assessment and recommendation of technologies that support organizational needs (including strategic system conversions and integrations). Lead, grow and develop an IT team that is client and solution-focused; provide coaching support and mentorship to the IT team while operating as a hands‑on project leader and executive liaison. Create and manage operations review processes and measures, establishing service level objectives, measuring value creation, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across solutions and services. Establish effective resourcing models, leveraging internal and external people to deliver projects, changes, and technology operations across the company. Manage the application support strategy, deployment and ongoing business support. Design a process to manage the organization’s technology assets. Create an AI policy and ensure the right tools are deployed to ensure that AI is being leveraged throughout the organization. Develop and manage technology data governance and cyber security policies and enforcement, achieving a high level of governance and security standard. Competencies and Requirements 10+ years of progressive experience leading IT teams through transformations within mid-size manufacturing, retail or CPG environments. Demonstrated success overseeing enterprise project implementations and launches including ERP and CRM. Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize, multi‑task and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and leadership skills with the ability to drive decision‑making by quickly gaining consensus. Extensive IT operations, systems integration/development, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence experience.
