Overview Intermediate Mechanical Engineer - Power Generation Join our Energy subsector, supporting clients from coast to coast on projects from initial concepts to detailed engineering across upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas activities and energy transition markets. We design, engineer and provide environmental services to support climate adaptation and low-carbon solutions, while delivering high standards of quality and innovation. Responsibilities Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data. Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers/designers Ensure effective communications with other engineering disciplines Prepare construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems Participate in the development of PFDs and P&IDs Perform piping design activities including sizing, pressure drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design Mentor and guide less experienced engineers Qualifications University Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience within the EPCM environment, ideally with industrial facilities Must be a currently licensed professional engineer (P.Eng, Ing, PE) in their province of practice Experience within the consulting environment is desired Previous experience with power plant, renewable natural gas plant design is desired Working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD Working knowledge of SmartPlant 3D or CADWorx Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe Experience using Thermoflow Location & Requirements Positions available in Canada with preference for Calgary, AB, Moncton, NB, or Kitchener, ON. Compensation Salary range (in British Columbia): CAD 96,200 – 132,200. Final salary may vary based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, location, and business needs.
