We are actively seeking a Maintenance Planner to join and support our Lloydminster Thermal Business Unit team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Maintenance – Lloydminster Thermal, this role is responsible for developing detailed maintenance plans that reduce downtime and support regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will maintain high quality standards, be proficient with an Enterprise Asset Management System, and demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across the business unit. Essential Functions Support a strong safety culture by following health, safety and environmental standards and contribute to meeting our shared safety and reliability goals. Work in alignment with Strathcona’s policies and procedures including Management of Change (MOC) and established maintenance processes. Ensure maintenance complies with engineering standards, regulatory requirements (TSASK), and company safety policies. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, supervisors, and third-party contractors to develop effective maintenance plans while ensuring operational constraints are mitigated and addressed as per priority. Build and maintain positive relationships with all key stakeholders. Scope, plan, and procure materials for assigned work orders using Prometheus and Maximo. Create detailed work execution plans for scheduling and develop job plans for repetitive activities to improve efficiency. Provide cost estimates for planned work. Support maintenance trades with guidance, coordination, and field supervision as required. Contribute to facility budgeting and forecasting. Maintain electronic records to document work that has been completed such as work orders, inspection reports and material requests. Provide vacation coverage for area Planners/Schedulers. Qualifications And Skills Strong knowledge of cost control, document control, engineering, procurement, contracts, and maintenance work processes. Solid understanding of maintenance and operations within thermal assets, with a focus on safe and efficient production. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and interpreting P&IDs. Exceptional organizational, time management, reporting, and communication skills. Self‑motivated, results‑driven, adaptable, and able to think creatively in a fast‑paced, multi‑discipline environment. High School Diploma or equivalent; a Trades Certificate or Technical Diploma is considered an asset. Minimum 5 years’ experience in project planning/scheduling or field maintenance. Experience with CMMS/CCMS systems (e.g., Maximo, Prometheus Scheduler) and material management systems. Familiarity with change control management processes. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record. Work Environment This role is responsible for planning maintenance activities for SAGD facilities within the Lloydminster Thermal Division and will be based out of the field office in the Edam/Meota area.
