Vancouver, Canada New Value Solutions Full time

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a GIS Technologist / Analyst to help our client maintain and support enterprise GIS data used by multiple applications within an integrated application environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Spatial data editing
  • Spatial alignment/gap analysis for various feature classes
  • Review original CAD drawings for any updated information
  • Re-align existing features where necessary based on updated drawings and other base data such as:
  • Parcel information
  • Ortho-imagery
  • Municipal utility base data
  • Terrain data
  • Other supporting data
  • Test and/or troubleshoot spatial analytical errors/functionality due to issues related to data
  • Test changes with various applications integrated with GIS
  • Feature class attribute editing:
  • Attribute gap analysis
  • Work with existing and any new methods/processes
  • Fill data gaps leveraging both spatial and non-spatial tools as necessary
  • Test and/or troubleshoot non-spatial errors related to integration touch points with other systems
  • Test changes with various applications integrated with GIS
  • Other GIS related work


Requirements:


  • 10+ years of experience as a GIS Technologist/Analyst
  • 10+ years of experience working with Geospatial technologies with emphasis on analyzing and editing spatial data in an enterprise GIS environment
  • Advanced working knowledge in the use of ESRI ArcGIS 10.8 + suite of products including ArcGIS Pro 2.8+ which may include server, desktop, web and mobile products
  • Ability to read and extract information from engineering drawings
  • Knowledge and experience using advanced analytical GIS tools for preparing linear data for complex application use
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven GIS analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to quickly learn new concepts/processes
  • Proven ability to establish priorities and strong attention to detail


In addition, this position requires the ability to:


  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contacts
  • Provide advice and assistance on matters related to the work
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision, although direction will be given
  • Maintain confidentiality
