Manufacturing Technician, CNC Optics (Weekend Shift) Ref #:30024 Toronto/Don Mills About the Role This position is responsible for generating and polishing optical components (precision lenses) using CNC machines with 3, 4, and 5 axes; NC; 2 axes and 2 mechanical axes equipment. Operates various precision optics CNC dual-spindle technology and axis design machines with a sound technical problem solving skills. Perform final inspection of complicated optical elements. Primary Responsibilities Set up CNC programs; CAN cycles with G-code understandings Generate and polish optical components Grind optical components; Precision Optics CNC Edge optical components; Precision Optics CNC Hand polish optiocal components Polish optical components; both Precision Optics CNC and Diamond Turned CNC Inspect/measure optical components to ensure conformity to specified tolerances Education & Skills Requirements Diploma in Photonics or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a minimum of 12 months experience in a related discipline Ability to read and interpret drawings Strong technical knowledge, capabilities Sound technical problem solving skills Ability to work well with others Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions At L3Harris, we foster an inclusive and equitable workplace.
