Clinic Details — Penticton Regional Hospital The Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) is a 158‑bed acute care facility in the Okanagan Health Service Area. It provides core medical and surgical specialty services to a population of approximately 90,000 people. PRH offers 24‑hour emergency and trauma services, acute services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic/paramedical services. As a regional facility and secondary referral centre for the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, it has a seven‑bed ICU, excellent radiology availability with on‑site CT and part‑time MRI, and serves as the referral base for hematology/transfusion medicine for smaller local hospitals. In April 2019 PRH opened phase one of the David E. Kampe Tower, a new state‑of‑the‑art patient‑care tower. Phase two is planned for December 2021. Two positions are available to join the dedicated team of six psychiatrists providing comprehensive, client‑centered care. The 16‑bed inpatient psychiatric unit (IPU) offers acute mental health and substance‑use services. In addition to inpatient services, integrated adult mental health programs include short‑term counseling, community case management, vocational rehabilitation, physical activation, anxiety and depression, DBT groups, seniors mental health and rural outreach. The community child and youth mental health program features individual counseling, group counseling, DBT program and integrated psychiatric services. The role includes teaching medical students and participating in quality improvement and program development activities. Current call requirement is approximately 1:5 to 6 days with rotating weekends and is remunerated at MOCAP Level 2. The position may also involve general psychiatry. Terms Compensation Type: Combination (Estimated remuneration $250,000–$400,000) Physician Overhead: No overhead cost Relocation Funding: $9,000–$15,000 (pro‑rated for part‑time) Benefits and Incentives Relocation assistance is applicable for 1.0 FTE positions and is based on move location with eligible receipts. Incentives are subject to change; current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
