LeverageTek is actively seeking a Director IS Strategy and Planning for a 12-month term role with its Ottawa-based customer

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work 1-2x/week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON

Security Requirement

Must be eligible for a Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability Clearance

Key Tasks

  • Manage the Strategy and Planning function of the Information Services Division
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the IM/IT strategic plan that aligns with the internal Strategy, IT Risk Management, and Divisional Performance Management Framework
  • Provide management and oversight of the divisional budget, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement, Communications, and general coordination function across the entire division
  • Think innovatively, strategically, and long-term while creating practical solutions to address a variety of divisional needs
  • Adapt quickly to changes and seamlessly transition from one initiative to another without losing tempo
  • Focus on specific goals and objectives and engage in detailed work
  • Maintain close relationships with colleagues and peers inside and outside of the IS Division
  • Enjoy collaboration and love being a part of the team

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience of progressive managerial experience in Information Management and Information Technology or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of IM/IT strategy, and managing IM/ IT technology roadmaps
  • Demonstrated experience in IM/IT procurement, financial management, personnel, and budget administration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in IM/IT Enterprise Architecture
  • Experience in IM/IT Risk Management
  • Experience in IM/IT governance
  • Expertise in managing technology innovation
  • Ability to apply technology solutions to address business problems
  • Experience in organizational change management
  • Experience developing, planning, and implementing IM/IT business strategies
  • Experience developing and implementing IM/IT improvement programs
  • Expertise in developing, interpreting, implementing, and applying IM/IT policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Very well organized and great at managing the big picture
