Duration: 12 months plus very likely extension.

Location: Toronto (Hybrid)


Our client, a recognized utility company is looking to hire a Solution Architect for a 12-month contract.


The client is looking for a Contractor, Solutions Architect with a strong experience delivering and implementing/upgrading Schneider Electric EcoStruxure ADMS SCADA. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record for delivering complex solutions involving SE ADMS SCADA, integration with other systems, working with different protocols and data migrations.


As a Contractor, Solutions Architect, the candidate will apply an in-depth knowledge of the platform to solve complex business problems. The candidate will help provide technical expertise and leadership to the project delivery team while ensuring that solutions are compliant with enterprise architectural standards and industry best practices.


The project delivery team includes both internal (business clients, business analysts, etc.) and external resources (vendors). The candidate’s ability to liaise and communicate effectively among the various stakeholders will be critical to ensure high quality deliverables.


Your New Role

  • Lead the technical delivery of SCADA solutions while effectively collaborating with various stakeholders (business clients, enterprise architects, system integrators / vendors, etc.)
  • Translate business requirements and present technical vision and solutions in the form of modules, customizations, and integrations
  • Assess the current technical architecture and work with technical staff to define future states
  • Prepare technical documentation such as system design specifications, architecture diagrams, etc.
  • Ensure end-to-end solution consistency and quality
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team throughout the project


What You’ll Need to Do to Succeed:

  • More than 5 years of experience in a senior technical capacity as a solution architect with a strong focus on SCADA ADMS upgrade/implementation and its architecture
  • Understand cybersecurity and demonstrate the ability to assess and prevent applications and data from cyber attacks
  • Experience with integration with other systems and knowledge in various integration patterns
  • Experience with data migrations
  • Experience with build, promote and release of management processes
  • Experience in industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, ADLP, Multispeak and MOSCAD
  • Experience integrating NMS and GIS system with SCADA
  • Experience working in a utility environment with SCADA systems interfacing with RTUs
  • Ability to upgrade and create existing / new network architectures
  • Understanding on GIS export tool and SCADA HMI graphics development for display building
  • Working experience in SQL Server database Management System
  • Experience in upgrading SE SCADA OASys 7.7 to SE EcoStruxure ADMS SCADA
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Visual Basic and C# used in building old and new displays
