People Leader (Human Resources) - Canada Company: GHDLocation: Toronto (GTA), Montreal, or Vancouver – hybrid work model, 3 days in office per week Job Description At GHD, we are committed to empowering our people and making a positive impact in partnership with our business. We are seeking a People Leader to serve on the Canada Leadership Team and provide strategic and operational people‑management advice that supports the achievement of the region’s business objectives and GHD’s overall strategic goals. The role will focus on building a high‑performance people culture, driving talent‑centric strategies, and ensuring people operations in Canada comply with group policies and local regulations. Key Responsibilities Develop a growth strategy to support the overall Canadian business strategy from a people perspective, anticipating future HR needs and creating scalable processes. Collaborate with the Executive General Manager, Canada, to define business priorities and with regional leaders to address development and succession needs. Lead through high‑growth periods and implement effective organizational structure designs. Analyze talent data to provide insights for training, learning, and development priorities. Champion Inclusion and Diversity in partnership with Centers of Excellence and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Work with business leadership at all levels on operational matters. Manage the performance process, outcomes, and follow‑up actions for the region. Lead and inspire the local People team to deliver KPIs aligned with core values, strategic priorities, and company vision. Ensure seamless execution of People operations – payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee experience. Implement systems and processes to optimize People efficiency. Monitor People metrics and analytics to measure effectiveness of initiatives. Ensure region people processes are consistent with company policy & local legal requirements. What you will bring Education Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred. Experience General Experience – 10+ years of leading people, systems, and process improvements. Managerial Experience – interpreting strategy and policy to set and deliver objectives in medium‑ to long‑term timeframes (10+ years). Proven track record of managing through high‑growth periods and implementing effective organizational design. Demonstrated ability to cultivate a positive organizational culture. Client‑first mindset. Ability to develop and align leadership & business groups to achieve business strategy. Agir en tant que leader pendant les périodes de forte croissance et mettre en place des structures organisationnelles efficaces. Analyser les données sur les talents pour conseiller la région sur les priorités en matière de formation, d’apprentissage et de perfectionnement. Promouvoir l’inclusion et la diversité grâce à un partenariat avec le Centre d’excellence et à un partenariat stratégique avec les groupes de ressources pour les employés et employées (ERG). Collaborer avec la direction de l’entreprise à tous les niveaux en lien avec des questions opérationnelles. Gérer le processus de performance, les résultats et les mesures de suivi pour la région. Diriger et inspirer l’équipe locale afin qu’elle atteigne les indicateurs clés de rendement en RH; aligner tous les processus et programmes relatifs aux RH sur les valeurs fondamentales, les priorités stratégiques et la vision, conformément aux politiques du groupe. Assurer l’exécution harmonieuse des opérations liées aux RH, y compris la paie, les avantages sociaux et la conformité. Mettre en œuvre des systèmes et des processus pour optimiser l’efficacité des RH et améliorer l’expérience employé. Surveiller les indicateurs et les analyses relatives aux RH afin de mesurer l’efficacité des initiatives en la matière et d’apporter des améliorations fondées sur des données. Assurer que les processus régionaux en RH sont conformes aux politiques de l’entreprise et aux exigences légales locales. Exigences (français) Une maîtrise est un atout; un baccalauréat est exigé. Expérience générale – le niveau d’expérience permet d’apporter un leadership sur les systèmes, processus et défis liés au travail (10 ans ou plus). Expérience en gestion – interprétation de stratégies et politiques afin d’établir et d’atteindre des objectifs à moyen et long terme (10 ans et plus). Expérience démontrée en matière de gestion pendant les périodes de forte croissance et mise en place de structures organisationnelles efficaces. Capacité avérée à cultiver et à établir une culture organisationnelle positive. Mentalité axée sur le client. Capacité avérée à développer et à aligner la direction et les groupes d’affaires pour soutenir la réalisation de la stratégie de l’entreprise.
