JOB SUMMARY:
As the Electrical Manager, you will oversee the Electrical Operations teams, ensuring the seamless execution of all projects. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage multiple teams, coordinate complex projects, and drive Otter Energy toward continued success in the solar industry. Your leadership and mentorship will help to elevate Otter Energy.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee project execution, from design to commissioning
- Monitor project progress and address issues promptly
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams on all electrical aspects
- Lead and mentor the Electrical Operations team, ensuring high performance and growth.
- Provide technical and electrical support and guidance to the teams
- Support the design and permitting processes for solar systems
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Participate in equipment selection and procurement processes
- Oversee installation, operation, of electrical systems
- Ensure understanding and use of electrical single-line diagrams and installation details.
- Perform project closeout, including electrical system testing
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Will be required to travel to different job sites
- Scheduling electrical teams for the correct job sites in priority order
- Ordering the correct electrical material for all job sites for all electrical teams
- Additional duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Time management, organization, and prioritization skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the solar industry and solar design software
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently, make decisions, and take responsibility for all electrical matters
- Have excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
- Ability to bend, lift, and twist as well as the ability to lift 50lbs on a frequent or repetitive basis
- Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and possesses a strong safety focus
- Self-motivated and a strong team player
- Ability to travel within the province as required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience in the solar industry, preferably in a leadership role
- 5+ years experience in a leadership role
- Master Electrician license is a requirement
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
