Job Title: Medical Science Liaison, Oncology Purpose of the function As the temporary fulltime Medical Science Liason, your primary responsibility is to serve as a bridge between Daiichi‑Sankyo Canada and oncology healthcare providers, researchers and KOLs. This role establishes and maintains scientific and clinical relationships with external stakeholders to support the effective and safe integration of the Daiichi‑Sankyo oncology portfolio into clinical practice. You will also assist in the development and execution of scientific activities dictated by the oncology medical plans. Roles and Responsibilities Stay updated and have a deep understanding of the therapeutic area, products you represent, and the latest scientific literature, clinical studies, treatment guidelines, and competitor information relevant to the Daiichi‑Sankyo oncology portfolio. Develop and nurture relationships with KOLs, academic researchers and clinical investigators. Engage in scientific discussions, provide up‑to‑date information and address any questions or concerns related to the company’s products or therapeutic areas in a timely manner. Develop and execute an external stakeholder engagement plan. Contribute to the pre‑launch and launch steps of new products by providing scientific support. Support medical affairs activities and the generation and dissemination of data. Through scientific interactions, champion the medical value of upcoming oncology products. Support clinical operations through effective interaction with clinical investigators and research coordinators to ensure the successful execution of trials. Identify research collaboration opportunities with external stakeholders, including clinical trials and real‑world evidence initiatives. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access, Marketing and Sales, Alliance partners) to provide scientific input that supports medical strategy and implementation plans. Contribute to the design and implementation of clinical trials and offer insights from HCPs and KOLs. Play a key role in providing medical education to HCPs, including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists; deliver presentations, participate in medical conferences and symposia, and provide training on therapeutic areas and product‑specific information. Gather and analyze market insights, such as competitor activities, emerging treatment trends and unmet medical needs. Provide feedback to local and global internal stakeholders on the medical community’s perceptions, interests, and clinical practices. Adhere to applicable legal and regulatory guidelines, including those related to interactions with HCPs, data disclosure, and promotional activities. Ensure all communications are compliant with industry standards and regulations. Education & Experience Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine (e.g., Pharm.D., M.D., Ph.D., or other scientific degree with strong experience in Medical Affairs and oncology). Preferred: Minimum of three years of previous experience in medical affairs in oncology, clinical research, or related roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Preferred: Existing network in lung/breast cancer. Skills and additional Requirements Ability to learn, retain, and present detailed scientific information quickly and accurately. Excellent and engaging presentation, communication, and facilitation skills in front of small and large groups. Fluency in English; fluency in French is an asset. Ability to work in a matrix and multicultural organization. High self‑motivation, assertiveness, and goal orientation. "Hands on" mentality. Strong ethical standards and compliance mindset.
