About the Team Aurora’s design team is composed of a mix of individuals who are driven to solve complex, systems-level problems for residential and commercial solar. We are a lean, agile team, operating with a startup mentality where designers own the end-to-end design lifecycle. Our team embodies a strong collaborative ethos as we partner with product and engineering peers from discovery and research, through to prototyping, delivery, and measuring success. As a design team, we rely on peer design critiques and pairing to elevate the quality of our work. About the Role As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll lead the design of Aurora’s most critical revenue-driving experiences and own the end-to-end sales journeys from project creation through financing, proposal presentation, and contract signing. You’ll operate as a strategic design leader for Sales Mode, partnering closely with Product to identify the highest-leverage opportunities and drive multi-quarter initiatives from discovery through delivery. You’ll help define how Aurora enables installers to sell with confidence, financiers to participate with clarity, and homeowners to make informed decisions. You’ll bring a strong customer lens and systems mindset, grounding design decisions in research, real-world constraints, and data. You’re fluent in metrics and experimentation, able to diagnose funnel friction, prioritize effectively, and measure success. Through close partnership with Product, Engineering, and Sales, you’ll shape experiences that are clearer, faster, and more trustworthy at scale. Your Impact Own end-to-end design leadership for Sales Mode experiences, spanning project creation, financing options, proposal personalization, and contract signing Set a multi-quarter experience vision and strategy for Sales Mode, translating business goals and customer needs into clear design direction and roadmaps Lead discovery to identify the highest-leverage problems using customer interviews, workflow analysis, and data to prioritize Design and iterate on flows that balance the needs of installers, financiers, and homeowners, including complex edge cases, compliance constraints, and approval flows Partner deeply with Product and Engineering to scope work into milestones, align tradeoffs, and ensure high-quality implementation Raise the bar on craft and consistency by contributing patterns to the design system and improving shared interaction models across Aurora Influence cross-team alignment by facilitating reviews, articulating rationale, and mentoring other designers through critique and collaboration What You Bring 8+ years of product design experience, with demonstrated leadership on complex, cross-functional initiatives Demonstrated ability to simplify multi-step workflows, and build intuitive experiences that serve multiple personas Deep customer empathy, with experience designing for real-world B2B constraints while maintaining a strong end‑user experience Data fluency, with the ability to pair quantitative signals with qualitative insight to guide decisions and measure impact Excellent product thinking and judgment with the ability to make smart tradeoffs, align teams through ambiguity, and maintain velocity without sacrificing quality A high bar for craft across interaction design, information architecture, and visual design, paired with clear storytelling and communication in a remote environment Collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to influence across Product, Engineering, and Sales Nice to Haves Experience with financing, payments, workflows, or contract/e‑sign workflows (or similar experiences) Experience designing B2B SaaS products across multiple personas, roles/permissions, and admin configuration Strong prototyping skills to align stakeholders, test ideas quickly, and de‑risk complex workflows What We Offer ️Flexible PTO - Take the time when you need it Parental Leave - 16 weeks with 100% base salary + gradual return to work WFH Stipend - An initial $675 CAD (Non‑engineers) or $1000 CAD (Engineering roles) Coworking Stipend - $400 CAD / month if you prefer to be at a coworking facility near you ☀️Energize Fridays - Company‑wide days to log off and recharge Connectivity Stipend - Up to $125 CAD / month towards internet or phone Learning & Development - $970 CAD / annually to use towards professional development (You have to complete 90 days of employment to receive this stipend)
