At the Foothills School Division we are seeking an MHCB - Success/Wellness Coach to join our team. This permanent year round, school-facilitation position will work 35 hours per week; Monday through Friday. This is primarily an on-site role which will require in-person attendance at our school locations. Evening and weekend work may be required.

The Role

The Coach provides addiction and mental health promotion and prevention to children, youth, and families through Tier 1 universal programming. Working as part of a team, this position develops and delivers developmentally appropriate, evidence-based programming that meets the objectives of the MHCB initiative. Delivery of programming involves large and small group work in schools and community settings, and focuses on increasing knowledge, building skills and fostering abilities that enable others to better their own mental health and wellness.

Qualifications & Work Experience

To prepare for this role, a related post-secondary diploma in social sciences is preferred, or relevant courses and experience with a minimum of two years working experience in addiction and mental health or health/human services related role (experience as a practicum student will be considered). You must be in good standing and have a valid practice permit with the Health Professions Act. In addition, a satisfactory criminal record/vulnerable sector check must be provided prior to hire. As this role requires travel to different locations with the Division, you will be required to have $2,000,0000 personal auto liability which must be confirmed upon hire.

A certification in Brain Story will be required either prior to hire or within in the first 6 months of employment; there is no fee however, it will be required to be completed on our own time.
