Stantec Consulting’s mining team has more than 800 engineers and technicians worldwide. Our western Canadian team in Calgary and Vancouver supports mining clients across a wide range of commodities, from scoping to feasibility studies, permitting, operational support, reclamation, and closure activities. Key Responsibilities Data evaluation and interpretation including equipment productivity, costing and resource definition Open pit optimization, mine planning, scheduling and pit design Haul cycle calculations and cost estimation for mining equipment fleets Site operational support for short, mid and long‑range planning Support for environmental, geotechnical and tailings planning groups in the development and design of large mining and closure projects Comply with and actively participate in Stantec and client safety programs Communicate clearly and effectively (both written and oral) Work effectively in a team environment Work with Microsoft Office suite of programs Experience with mine planning and design software (e.g., Hexagon Minesight, Deswik) is an asset Work experience in mining or resource industries is an asset Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mining engineering Preferred minimum of 5 years’ industry or consulting experience Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, per Stantec’s Safe Driving Policy Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) This position may have additional qualification requirements depending on work assignments. Additional qualifications will be defined in the Project Specific Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Plans. Travel Applicants must be prepared to travel and to potentially be in the field for assignment intervals of 1 to 2 weeks if projects require on‑site support. Employment Details Full‑time with benefits. Standard work week is 37.5 hours; additional time may be required depending on workload and project requirements (overtime is compensated at straight‑time rate for this position). Pay Range Locations in Lower Mainland – BC – Minimum salary $76,500.00 – Maximum salary $110,900.00 Benefits Summary Regular full‑time and part‑time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) will have access to health, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health care spending account, wellness spending account, group registered retirement savings plan, employee stock purchase program, group tax‑free savings account, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short‑term/long‑term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid time off. Location Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (Lower Mainland) Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
