Position Summary This role centers on analyzing financial data, developing and maintaining ECL models, and providing valuable insights to drive informed business decisions. It requires developing SQL queries to extract large data sets, preparing complex financial models, and automating operational reports and processes. The position collaborates with other staff members and business units to complete the required duties. Duties and Responsibilities Enhance and maintain the current financial model for the determination of the Expected Credit Losses (ECL) for Financial Reporting under IFRS 9, analyzing periodic results. Develop queries in SQL to extract data from various data warehouses for financial models and ad‑hoc reporting. Prepare detailed trend analysis, business models, and develop links critical to understanding accounts receivable, revenue, cash receipts and collections; report findings to management to support decision making. Develop, monitor and maintain data warehouses, including updating and adding new data requirements and ensuring data integrity. Support the Senior Manager of Finance in providing ad‑hoc and audit requirements within tight timelines. Create and update finance dashboards using Tableau. Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Finance in enhancing monthly and quarterly reporting for management, audit committee, and board of directors for better efficiencies, explanations, and presentation. Automate manual processes by leveraging scripting or programming languages to improve efficiency and accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree – Accounting, Finance or Computer Engineering. Finance/Accounting Designation (e.g. CPA or CFA) is an asset. Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting or analytics role. Advanced proficiency in SQL, database systems and cloud platform is required, preferably with financial and customer data. Experience with large data sets, Peoplesoft, SAP, Salesforce, and SAS is considered an asset. Sound experience in financial analysis, accounting, and understanding business operations, analyzing both qualitative and quantitative results. Exceptional working knowledge of MS applications including Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with various software including Python, Dbeaver, Tableau, Power BI is considered an asset. Ability to work independently, great organizational and time management skills; planning and project management, and ability to meet multiple deadlines. Strong interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills. Ability to create presentations and present information and data in a group setting.
