Our work culture includes a dynamic mix of professionals, with a diversity of skills and expertise.**Minimum Requirements:*** Experience in plant operations such as heavy oil processing, sour gas processing, water treatment/power plants or refinery operations* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure* 3rd Class Power Engineering certification (or higher)* High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)* A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record**Responsibilities:*** Follow all operating processes and procedures during operations to ensure the safety of our people, equipment, and the environment* Prepare and complete daily area logs and communicate significant changes and findings* Provide direction and supervision to the maintenance and contract personnel* Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs* Prepare equipment and systems for maintenance and commissioning**Location and other Key Details:*** You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta* The shift schedule is a 6 days on / 6 days off rotation (3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 days off; 12-hour shifts)* This position is safety sensitive* You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces* If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory* To learn more about living and working in Fort McMurray,Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).With a strong strategy for growth and our long-standing approach to sustainability, operational excellence, capital discipline and technology and innovation, Suncor offers a solid foundation for you to continue building your career.
