Sr Backend Engineer

The Opportunity As a Backend Engineer, Trading Systems on our engineering team, you will play a critical role in building, supporting, and maintaining the systems and tools to support our proprietary trading system. This includes designing scalable components and solving complex design problems, serving as an integral partner to our trading team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in deploying quality engineering practices within lean agile development teams to build top-tier tools and products. This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced and resourceful developer to make a significant impact on the bottom line of a fast-moving, crypto-native firm. You will work with a high-impact team, develop your skills in Rust, and contribute to complex system development. Responsibilities Architect, design, and build the next phase of a world-class trading system. Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, testing, and validation. Contribute to system architecture and interface design. Take full ownership of multiple components, including design, implementation, and maintenance. Be an active member of a lean agile development team. Apply and advocate for quality engineering practices. About you You thrive in less structured environments and excel at driving results with autonomy. You are excited by both starting new projects and maintaining or optimizing existing ones. You are resourceful and adept at balancing speed with quality. Preferred experience 2-8 years of full-time software engineering, preferably as a systems programmer in Rust, C++, or Go. Bonus for Rust experience or interest in learning it. Experience with quality processes, verification, and validation beyond testing. Experience building scalable, performant, production applications with regular releases, including: Performance-sensitive engineering (multi-threading, streaming data, concurrency) Distributed systems and microservices Experience with trading systems and enthusiasm for the crypto space is a strong plus.
