Position Overview :

We seek an experienced Senior Immigration Lawyer with a deep understanding of Canadian immigration law and a proven track record in handling complex immigration cases to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about immigration and delivering exceptional legal services. You thrive in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.


Location: The role is ideally based in the United States with consideration of remote work in Canada.


Key Responsibilities :


  • Manage a diverse caseload : Devise immigration strategies for various immigration matters, including permanent residency applications, work permits and other temporary residence applications, to address complex problems for our corporate clients.


  • Provide expert legal advice : Offer high-calibre legal representation in all aspects of Canadian immigration law, ensuring compliance, relying on your expertise with dealing directly with Canadian governmental agencies, the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and related regulations.


  • Client engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing personalized legal guidance and responding to inquiries in a timely, professional manner.


  • Strategic case development : Design and implement strategies for complex immigration cases, including drafting legal arguments, preparing documentation, and representing clients before Canadian immigration authorities.


  • Mentor and supervise : Lead and mentor junior legal staff and paralegals to ensure the highest standards of practice and contribute to a supportive team culture.


  • Stay informed : Keep up to date with changes in Canadian immigration laws and policies to ensure the firm’s practices remain current and compliant.


  • Business development : Participate in networking and client outreach to help grow the firm’s client base and enhance its reputation.


Qualifications :


  • Education : Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited Canadian institution.


  • Licensing : Licensed to practice law in Canada and in good standing with a provincial or territorial law society.


  • Experience : A minimum of 7 years of experience in Canadian corporate immigration law, with a proven record of managing complex immigration cases. You must have hands-on experience preparing and filing various cases from express entry to PNPs and from work permits to criminal rehabilitation applications.


  • Skills : Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and leverage technology.
