Role description: As a Senior Noise and Vibration engineer, you will bring your experience and specialized skill sets in providing technical solutions for a wide variety of projects. This role is focused on environmental noise and vibration, but experience in architectural acoustics is considered an asset. In this role, you will be working as part of a small (but growing), collaborative team to deliver noise and vibration services on a wide variety of projects including railways, roadways, industry, and land development. We are looking for individuals that are excited to join our consulting-focused noise and vibration team, help build new tools for emerging client challenges, and work as part of close-knit collaborative team. Role accountabilities: Responsibilities will include: Producing high quality, thoughtful analysis using commercially available software packages and in-house tools. Drive and support the development of new in-house tools to solve and improve technical and administrative challenges and workflows. Conducting field measurements or noise and vibration at industrial, residential, institutional, and construction sites. Collaborating with project managers from scoping and budgeting, through all stages of project execution. Opportunities to move into technical project management roles are available within the team. Leading meetings to communicate project results and proposed solutions to internal and external clients. Managing a schedule of multiple active projects, as well as internal tool development, to successfully balance priorities and meet deliverables. Key Skills: While specific technical skills and experience are required, strong interpersonal, communication and written skills are essential for achieving success in this role. Arcadis is seeking a candidate with: Demonstrated knowledge of key areas of environmental noise and vibration such as predictive railway noise and vibration models (e.g., FTA, STEAM); predictive roadway noise models (e.g., TNM, ORNAMENT); basic sound and vibration propagation algorithms; modelling software (e.g., Cadna/A); complex measurements, both at source and receiver. Experience developing tools using Python and other programming tools to analyze sound and vibration measurements, and improve efficiency and project flow. Experience working collaboratively with clients to develop solutions that within the context of the project. Qualifications & Experience: The Noise and Vibration Engineer will have 5+ years consulting experience in the field of environmental noise and vibration, and: P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) Valid driver’s license The salary range for this position is $95,000-137,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position.
