The Opportunity We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Data & Information Governance to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a bold, strategic thinker who thrives on building, scaling and energizing teams. Reporting to the Director, Data Governance, this role will build and scale our data and information governance practices, oversee their execution and embed them within the broader data and analytics strategy and framework. What your day looks like Architect and implement a forward‑thinking strategy that aligns Information Management and Data Governance with the overall Data & Analytics vision. Ensure our governance practices support data quality, analytics enablement, and AI readiness. Build, scale and operationalize data and information governance capabilities, including lifecycle management, retention schedules and compliance with regulations such as PIPEDA and Law 25. Integrate RIM processes, policies and controls into the enterprise data governance framework. Embed principles of responsible data and AI use into governance practices, ensuring client trust is upheld in all data‑driven initiatives. Support responsible use of data in AI initiatives by establishing governance structures that ensure accuracy, transparency and ethical considerations in AI models. Lead cross‑functional initiatives, facilitate the Data Governance Council and related working groups, and drive change management to embed Data & Information Governance practices into enterprise culture. Oversee deployment and adoption of governance tools (Collibra, Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, LeanIX) supporting data cataloging, lineage, classification and metadata management. Establish metrics and KPIs to measure effectiveness of integrated Data Governance and RIM efforts, providing regular updates to leadership. Requirements Your experience and skills: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, combined with advanced professional certifications such as CDMP, CIPP or AIGP. 8+ years of experience in Data & Analytics Governance, Information Management or related field, including at least 3 years in a leadership or senior management role. Demonstrated success implementing enterprise data governance and RIM programs. Experience implementing governance practices that support responsible use of AI, ensuring data integrity, fairness and compliance. Deep understanding of governance best practices, including data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, AI/ML model governance and RIM best practices. Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions. Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) to communicate governance progress. Fluent in English (required) and French (asset).
