Manager, Tax Regulatory Affairs – TD – Toronto, Ontario, Canada Salary Range: CAD 96,900 – 136,800 (base) Job Overview The Manager, Tax Regulatory Affairs role reports to the Senior Manager, Tax Regulatory Affairs within Governance & Control. It provides leadership, guidance, and expertise on complex tax matters, focusing on tax-related inquiries, risk management, and corporate actions. The manager works closely with Treasury & Wealth partners and cross‑functional teams, promoting best practices and compliance across the organization. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the subject matter expert and central point of reference for internal partners on tax and complex corporate actions. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional working groups. Stay current on legislative and operational developments in tax and corporate actions, assessing implications and risks. Participate in TD Wealth Tax governance project working groups. Conduct data analysis and prepare meaningful reporting and recommendations that inform business decisions. Perform industry research to stay abreast of best practices, products, and emerging risks and technologies. Provide expert tax guidance on products, services, and initiatives, monitoring and interpreting new or amended legislation and regulations. Offer guidance on complex corporate actions, wealth initiatives, regulatory requirements, and tax‑related policy and communication, including interactions with CRA and industry committees. Act as the first line of defense regarding tax risk within the business or corporate office area. Act as liaison between the first and second lines of defense and the center of excellence. Qualifications & Experience 7+ years of tax‑function experience with deep knowledge of Canadian income tax regulatory requirements. CPA in‑Depth Tax Program. Deep industry and compliance expertise in tax regulations for all Registered Plan products. In‑depth knowledge of corporate actions concepts. University degree (or equivalent work experience); postgraduate degree or professional designation is an asset. Strong understanding of risk management. Excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio skills—PowerPoint is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of preparing executive‑level decks, memos, and reports. Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple tasks under tight timelines. Ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
