Job Summary

The incumbent will provide leadership and consultative support to the business functions, facilitating the creation of and driving the execution of technology dependent strategies and transformation across the organization, to ensure uptake and strategic alignment that meets the needs of the business environment and to drive growth.


They will lead a team of IT Business Partners who has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic liaison with their assigned business functions for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.


As a trusted advisor, they will engage with senior business leaders, and both internal and external technology delivery partners to find opportunities for innovation and direction for the analysis and resolution of complex problems at the regional level.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to translate functional business strategies and supporting outcomes into enabling business capabilities. Facilitate the development of concrete, multi-year, strategy driven business and IT roadmaps with investment requirements and benefits well enumerated. Liaise between assigned functions and IT communities to align demands and priorities.
  • Canvas the marketplace and proactively bring business & technology “art of possible” ideas to further enable the business strategy. Collaborate to identify and develop true business value opportunities, and influence the decision on priorities, roadmap, and timing of initiatives. Partner with business and IT leaders to evaluate proposals, build cases and plan new joint initiatives. Lead all aspects of creation and maintenance of business architecture and roadmap. Capture high level business requirements regarding new solutions and improvements to existing solutions.
  • Form strong, trust-based relationships with assigned business and functional leaders to ensure involvement in business / functional planning.
  • Be engaged proactively for consultation, challenge thinking, push back and escalate issues as needed, to establish IT as a respected strategic partner.
  • Collaborate with business and OCM teams to ensure effective business transformation for all initiatives (roles, processes, organization) to drive the realization of identified business outcomes. Focus on process adoption, integration of new capabilities with ways of working, and drives associated systems usage. Ensure IT is aware of key business changes and issues.
  • Obtain alignment on business-value based priorities. Provide input to governance (PMO) committee for alignment on the portfolio of initiatives such that IT initiatives support investment decisions with the greatest impact for the business, our colleagues, and our clients.
  • Lead collaborator satisfaction with IT services. With technology teams (applications, infrastructure, security, project managers, and other business partners), work collaboratively to share knowledge ensuring One IT execution.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develop, and motivate their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy. Prepare succession and development planning for the team.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in any of the STEM or related fields with a master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience which includes 5+ years’ experience leading people and engaging senior level collaborators.
  • Experience in successfully conducting medium-to-large sized enterprise projects in IT lead role (in 2 or more of the targeted business functions: Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales & Marketing)
  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft O365
  • Project Management certification and/or experience, an asset
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English is essential. French would be an asset
