Specifically, you will contribute to the management of drivers, routes, deliveries, maintenance, security and safety, and other transportation-related functions to create direct contributions to the division and to customers' experiences. A successful candidate will have effectively demonstrated an ability to continuously build better processes, manage daily operations, and instill a culture of innovation. Primary Responsibilities Ensuring application of safety, accident-prevention standards, methods, and procedures. Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) such as on-time delivery, driver case scan percentage, and accident frequency. Take feedback from drivers to improve our customers' delivery experience. Assist managers with overall day-to-day administration of transportation and delivery functions, which may include calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver trip logs and expense reports, and identifying and resolving problems. Ensure drivers fulfill duties safely by monitoring vehicle safety and safety systems (Samsara), safe usage of ramps and handcarts, and safe lifting and product-handling practices. Leading and conducting performance management conversations to foster departmental growth of personnel. Rides with drivers for training and/or evaluation purposes. Completing paperwork such as: evaluations, accident/injury logs, HOS logs, and other reports and records. Collecting and analyzing data to evaluate department and individual performance. Physical Demands & Working Conditions Physical ability to handle objects, tools, and/or controls. Physical ability to lift, unload, and carry totes and bundles up to 30lbs repetitively and up to 60lbs occasionally, push up to 50lbs, and move a dolly loaded with up to 250lbs. Physical ability to stand for a significant period of time and walk continuously on occasion. Physical ability to occasionally bend, kneel, or reach may be required on occasion. Exposure to a variety of environmental conditions: weather, temperature, lighting, and noise. Required Qualifications Must possess a Class 1 driver's license. Minimum of 2 years of logistics supervisory experience. High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Ability to manage routing and distribution, and logistic computer software. Ability to analyze and critically evaluate situations. Ability to effectively communicate. Preferred Qualifications Food service/distribution experience is considered an asset. Multi-temp delivery/return logistics experience is considered an asset. Systems experience is considered an asset (Samsara, Omnitracs, Power BI).
