Lead Game Designer - VLT (Canadian Market)

MUST HAVE RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IN THE CANADIAN MARKET BUT CAN LIVE IN U.S. OR CANADA.


Job Description:

Position Overview: As the Lead Game Designer for VLT games targeting the Canadian market, you will be responsible for driving the creative vision and design strategy for our retail gaming products. You will lead a team of talented designers and developers to conceptualize, design, and implement engaging game content for Video Lottery Terminals.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Game Conceptualization: Lead brainstorming sessions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize new VLT game ideas, themes, and mechanics tailored to the Canadian gaming market.
  2. Design Leadership: Provide creative direction and mentorship to the design team to ensure the development of high-quality, visually appealing, and user-friendly VLT games.
  3. Market Research: Stay updated on trends and preferences in the Canadian gaming market, conducting market research to inform game design decisions and optimize player engagement.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all VLT game designs comply with regulatory requirements and standards set by Canadian gaming authorities.
  5. User Experience Optimization: Champion user-centric design principles to create intuitive and enjoyable gaming experiences for players of all skill levels.
  6. Prototype Development: Oversee the creation of prototypes and mock-ups to test game concepts and iterate on design ideas before full-scale development.
  7. Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control processes to maintain the integrity and performance of VLT games, ensuring a seamless gaming experience for players.
  8. Collaboration: Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork across departments to achieve project goals and deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in game design, particularly in the development of VLT games for the Canadian gaming market.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with game development tools.
  • Excellent understanding of gaming industry trends, player preferences, and regulatory requirements in the Canadian market.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
