We seek an IAM Architect to lead the design of Scotiabank’s next‑generation CIAM platform, aligning with the long‑term product roadmap for large‑scale transformation. Responsibilities Define architectural patterns and technical solutions supporting the IAM roadmap and strategy (ForgeRock/Ping). Review business requirements from the IAM Product team and provide architectural designs to the engineering team. Prepare design artifacts outlining solutions, components, key decisions, and cost/benefit estimates. Collaborate closely with IAM Engineering partners throughout design and build. Evaluate emerging authentication capabilities and incorporate applicable technologies. Partner with cross‑functional architecture teams (IAM, security, business channel, fraud) to solidify design approaches. Engage stakeholders across the bank (tech, security architecture, advisory, fraud, compliance, business channels) to deliver enterprise‑grade solutions. Represent the CIAM Architecture team on governance boards, providing expertise and artifacts for stakeholder approval. Design with expertise in industry standards (FIDO, OIDC, OAuth), best practices (MFA, NIST 800‑63B), and future trends (Passkeys, VC, DIDs). Skills 10+ years in IAM, 3+ in an Architecture role. 5+ years in CIAM (ForgeRock, Okta, Ping Identity, etc.). 3+ years hands‑on experience with ForgeRock (SaaS or On‑Prem). Strong understanding of product capabilities. Strong understanding of MFA technologies and their pros/cons. Experience documenting CIAM directives, standards, and policies. Experience designing authentication and credential‑management flows. Experience scoping, sizing, and prioritizing solutions for a project. Nice to Haves Knowledge of project finance or prior banking‑sector experience. Experience preparing presentation decks for senior leadership. Experience with cloud‑based platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) for IAM deployments. Proficiency in Java‑based programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Node.js).
