Human Resources Director (Part-Time, Flexible Schedule) Position Type: Half‑Time (Approximately 20 hours per week) The Company PearTree is the innovator of the flow‑through share donation financing structure which unites the Canadian resource and charitable sectors. PearTree works with Canadian Resource Exploration Companies to arrange and close structured Flow Through Donation Financings, while at the same time helping major gift donors reduce their after‑tax cost so they can give more to their favourite Canadian causes. The Role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to join our team on a part‑time, flexible basis. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage all aspects of human resources with a hands‑on approach. A key focus of this position is leading and shaping company culture, ensuring that PearTree remains an engaging, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace. Key Responsibilities Culture Leadership & Engagement: Act as a champion for PearTree’s values and employee experience. Design and implement initiatives that strengthen company culture and foster collaboration, inclusivity, and engagement. Lead team‑building programs and activities that promote a positive work environment. Talent Acquisition & Hiring: Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding. Performance Management: Oversee the performance review process, including documentation and feedback systems. Policy Development & Updates: Maintain and update HR policies to reflect organizational needs and best practices. People Management: Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR‑related matters. Payroll & Benefits Oversight: Manage relationships with payroll providers. Oversee benefits administration and ensure accurate and timely processing. HR Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR reports as needed. Other duties related to office personnel as may be assigned from time to time Qualifications Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably in a small to mid‑sized organization. Strong knowledge of Canadian employment practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with HR systems. Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field and post‑secondary diploma or certificate in HR. Work Arrangement Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling options available). Location: Hybrid options available. Right now, we support a hybrid approach to our work model. This gives everyone the best of both worlds – a mix of home and in‑office workdays. Schedules will be determined in partnership between individuals, managers, and the team.
