The RAMPS team enables seamless fiat on/off‑ramping — helping users transition between traditional finance and decentralized applications. This is one of the most mission‑critical and revenue‑impacting surfaces in MetaMask, and we’re expanding our technical leadership to support a growing roadmap. What you’ll do As a tech lead on the RAMPS team, you will: Lead the technical direction and execution of ramp‑related features and infrastructure Guide and mentor a team of junior and mid‑level engineers (across backend, frontend, and mobile) Build secure, scalable systems that connect users to third‑party ramp providers and payments infrastructure Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers from across MetaMask to ship cross‑platform features Maintain high code quality through design discussions, reviews, testing, and documentation Help ensure reliability, observability, and performance of the RAMPS services Own architectural decisions that affect revenue‑generating user flows Partner with mobile and extension teams to create unified, seamless ramping experiences Would be great if you brought this to the role 5+ years of experience in full‑stack or backend engineering roles 3+ years working with mobile‑based technologies 3+ years building websites and/or applications Strong experience with TypeScript , Node.js , and modern web technologies Demonstrated experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, and making architectural decisions Familiarity with payment infrastructure, APIs, and 3rd party integrations Ability to think critically about edge cases, system security, and failure modes Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially in remote‑first teams Experience working in agile environments with cross‑functional teams Commitment to clean code practices, testing, and maintainable software Excellent verbal and written communication in English Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams A growth mindset and eagerness to learn Strategic thinking — balancing technical quality with business outcomes Passion for Web3, decentralization, and open systems Bonus Points Experience working on fiat on/off ramp systems , DeFi , or financial infrastructure Understanding of Web3 fundamentals , wallets, and the MetaMask ecosystem Familiarity with mobile‑first development and cross‑platform architecture Interest in performance optimization, observability, and long‑term system health Don't meet all the requirements?
